Sell Your Taxi or Private Hire Business

I'm Bob Parsons. I've built and run taxi firms myself — Handicabs, 440 Cars, and now Galaxy Cars & Airport Transfers — so I know what yours takes: the operator's licence, the driver badges, the vehicles, the account customers who book you again and again. I buy directly, no broker fees, no commission, using flexible seller finance.

I've Run One, So I Know What I'm Buying

Most buyers look at a taxi or private hire business and see a fleet of ageing cars and a page of driver names. I look at it and see the reality — the operator's licence you built up over years, the drivers who stayed loyal, the airport and corporate accounts that book without being asked twice. I've been the one training up new drivers, chasing council renewals, and sat in the office at midnight when a car's broken down on a job. So I value the business for what it actually is, not what a broker's brochure says it should be.

Why Sellers Come to Me Instead of a Broker

A broker lists your business and hopes someone turns up. I'm the buyer. That's the whole difference — and it changes everything about how the sale goes.

Selling through a broker

  • ✕  A hefty upfront fee, win or lose
  • ✕  A chunky commission on top when it sells
  • ✕  Tied in for 18–24 months, sometimes longer
  • ✕  9–12 months waiting — if it sells at all
  • ✕  A middleman between you and the real buyer

Selling direct to me

  • ✓  No fees. No commission. Ever.
  • ✓  A decision from me in days, not months
  • ✓  No contract tying you in — you're free to walk
  • ✓  100% confidential — staff and customers needn't know
  • ✓  You deal with me — the man buying your business

Can't Find a Buyer Who Can Get the Finance?

A taxi or private hire business is one of the hardest types of business to sell through a bank-backed buyer. Banks don't like lending against a fleet of vehicles that's often already on finance, and a driver base that's self-employed and free to walk. I use seller finance, so the deal doesn't hang on a bank. You get a fair price paid over an agreed period, set out in a proper solicitor-drawn agreement and secured by a legal charge over the business.

What I'm Looking For

UK taxi and private hire businesses turning over £350k to £10m — Hackney carriage and private hire operators, airport transfer and executive travel firms, radio-circuit and app-based dispatch operations. Owner-operated or built around a self-employed driver base. Profitable, ready for retirement, or struggling.

How It Works

1. A free, confidential chat

You tell me about the business, I listen. No forms, no obligation.

2. A fair offer, fast

I look at the numbers and come back with a fair offer, usually within days.

3. A structure that suits you

Seller finance, deferred payments, cash release, or a mix — built around your situation.

4. Completion and handover

We complete and handle the handover carefully. Your people and your name are looked after.

Questions Sellers Ask Me

That's the plan. Your drivers and their local knowledge are part of what makes the business worth buying. I grow businesses, I don't strip them.
Properly. The operator's licence, vehicle licences and the fleet itself all count, whether owned, leased or driver-owned. We go through it together — no lowballing the tools of the trade.
Yes. I buy profitable, retirement and distressed businesses. If nothing else we'll lend an ear and tell you straight.
Both. A well-run private hire operation with regular accounts is just as buyable as a Hackney firm with council and rank work.
